What SEBI Research Analyst registration requires
Qualification
NISM Series XV Research Analyst Certification mandatory โ plus a post-graduate degree or 5 years of relevant experience.
Net Worth
Individual RA: net worth of Rs. 1 lakh minimum. Body corporate: net worth of Rs. 25 lakhs minimum.

A SEBI Research Analyst (RA) is an individual or entity registered with SEBI under the Research Analyst Regulations 2014 to issue research reports and recommendations on securities. Anyone who publishes investment recommendations publicly must be SEBI-registered as a Research Analyst.
Applicants must hold a valid NISM Series XV Research Analyst Certification. Additionally, either a post-graduate degree in finance, economics, business or related field, or at least 5 years of experience in financial analysis or securities research is required.
BASL (BSE Administration and Supervision Ltd) is a SEBI-recognised body for Research Analysts. SEBI mandated BASL membership for all RAs from 2022. Membership requires passing the eligibility criteria and paying annual membership fees. Without BASL membership, RA registration cannot be obtained or renewed.
